At Seale Village Pre-School, we believe every child deserves the freedom to be themselves—to climb, splash, wonder, imagine, create, take risks and grow. Hedgehogs Room (1–3 Years)

In Hedgehogs, we provide a warm, nurturing and secure environment where every child is encouraged to learn through play, exploration and meaningful relationships. Inspired by our Forest School ethos, we believe children flourish when they have the freedom to take supported risks, investigate the natural world and develop at their own pace.
We recognise that the first three years of life lay the foundations for future learning. Our role is to create an environment where children feel safe, valued and confident enough to become curious, resilient and independent learners.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
We strive for every child to:
  • Feel safe, happy and emotionally secure.
  • Develop strong attachments and trusting relationships.
  • Build confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self.
  • Learn to recognise and express their feelings appropriately.
  • Begin to take turns, share and develop friendships.

  • Begin to recognise their own name and develop an interest in early print.
Mathematics

  • Explore size, measure, sorting and comparing using natural and open-ended resources.

Understanding the World

Foxes Room (3–5 Years) ​

Foxes is a place where children build upon the foundations laid in Hedgehogs, growing into confident, resilient and capable learners who are ready for school and life beyond. Through our Forest School ethos, children learn to respect themselves, others and the natural world while developing the confidence to take supported risks, solve problems and think independently.
Our curriculum follows children's interests, providing rich opportunities both indoors and outdoors to inspire curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.
